A Confession has viewers glued to their TV screens but the ITV drama features a cameo from an unexpected TV star.
ITV’s penchant for creating brilliant drama series looks set to continue with their latest addition, A Confession.
The series, which is based on real-world events, follows the investigation surrounding the disappearance and murder of Sian O’Callaghan in 2011.
ITV have assembled an incredible cast that features Hollywood-worthy actors such as Martin Freeman and Imelda Staunton in key roles for the series.
However, there is another actress and TV presenter that viewers of A Confession have spotted in a surprise cameo.
As mentioned, A Confession tells the story of Sian O’Callaghan’s death in March 2011 and the following investigations into her murder as well as the court case that saw taxi driver Christopher Halliwell sentenced to life in prison in October 2012.
Starring in the series are Martin Freeman (The Hobbit, Sherlock) as Detective Superintendent Steve Fulcher as well as Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Maleficent) as Karen Edwards, the mother of another of Halliwell’s murder victims, Becky Godden-Edwards.

Lisa Faulker’s cameo appearance
In the second episode of A Confession, aired on September 9th, a certain Lisa Faulker, primarily of This Morning and Loose Women fame, made a surprise appearance in the show as Ray Hayward’s partner.
Her cameo in the episode may only have been brief but eagle-eyed viewers were quick to point out the 47-year-old actress and presenter.
Watching #TheConfession and a few of the cast choices keep distracting me from the story – Charlie Cooper and Lisa Faulkner. Not saying bad just surprising.— Claire Pearce (@Clairey_tweetie) September 9, 2019
What else has Lisa Faulkner been in?
Lisa Faulkner’s role in A Confession may only have been a small one but she’s certainly caught the attention of viewers.
The 47-year old actress currently has 24 acting credits to her name, according to IMDb, the latest and arguably most prominent of which was a 61-episode spell on the BBC soap EastEnders back in 2017.
Other notable roles Lisa Faulkner has held over her 27-year career include shows such as Spooks, Casualty and Holby City.
More recently Lisa appeared in an episode of the Caribbean murder mystery series Death in Paradise as well as the series Murdoch Mysteries.
Since 2012, acting roles have been thin on the ground but Faulkner has clearly kept herself busy on the news and talk shows This Morning and Loose Women where she has been a regular presenter since 2003 and 2000 respectively.
Whether Lisa Faulkner will pop up again in ITV’s A Confession remains to be seen but the series continues on Monday, September 16th at 9pm.
