Adventures in Futureland offers up just that in a true to life examination of things that wouldn't feel out of place in a Black Mirror episode from virtual sex to lucrative cryptocurrencies.

Adventures in Futureland: What is it about?
Adventures in Futureland is a three-episode documentary series that looks to delve into some of the most lucrative and controversial industries of the 21st century.
From virtual sex and pornography to bitcoin millionaires and social media stars, the series tells the story of those behind these growing industries and the glitz, glamour and risk that comes as part and parcel of the experience.
Who is Jamali Maddix?
Jamali Maddix is a 28-year-old British comedian of Jamaican and Italian descent who has earned notoriety in the last few years for his stand-up routines and appearances on TV shows such as Dara O'Brien's Go 8 Bit.
The comedian burst onto the scene in 2015 when he appeared on The John Bishop Show and has gone onto perform in the likes of Live at The Apollo since.
On TV, Jamali has appeared on panel shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats and Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled among many others.
Maddix's work doesn't just stick to comedy though as he wrote and presented two series of the documentary series Hate Thy Neighbour in collaboration with Vice, a series which happens to be the perfect preparation for this new Channel 4 docu-series.

Adventures in Futureland: The rest of series 1
While episode one saw Jamali investigate the online virtual sex industry, telling the stories of the women who make their living in the profession, the upcoming second episode is set to explore the world of social media stars who search to become the next viral sensation with ambitions of earning fame and fortune.
Following on from that, the third and final episode looks to examine the lives of bitcoin millionaires who made a fortune from the cryptocurrency boom a few years ago.
The second episode is due to air on Sunday, September 15th at 10pm on Channel 4. The third and final episode, meanwhile, will air a week later on September 22nd at the same time and on the same channel.
