Tottenham Hotspur’s Davinson Sanchez has been in action for Colombia.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League campaign is already on hold for the first international break of the season, with their players off around the world.

Harry Kane made headlines with his hat-trick for England on Saturday, whilst the likes of Son Heung-min and Giovani Lo Celso have had a little more travelling to do.

Another player in action was Davinson Sanchez, with the centre back featuring for Colombia in a friendly against Brazil in Miami.

Casemiro’s opener for Brazil was cancelled out by a quickfire brace from Luis Muriel, before Neymar ensured that Brazil weren’t beaten with the equaliser.

Sanchez will have been looking for a great performance to get back to some sort of form, but his challenge on Neymar caused controversy.

Neymar nipped past Sanchez inside the penalty area, before Sanchez clumsily brought him down, with the referee seemingly feeling it was just a shove, but it looked like more than that.

Tottenham fans have been reacting to Sanchez’s challenge after seeing a video of the incident, and many really aren’t impressed, calling him a ‘liability’ and whilst some fans are celebrating his challenge on a widely-unpopular player like Neymar, others can’t believe it wasn’t a penalty.

Others called him ‘erratic’ and compared him to Younes Kaboul, feeling that Mauricio Pochettino really hasn’t done enough to develop this game since arriving from Ajax in 2017 as his poor form continues.
