Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has picked up an injury.

According to Conclusion in Argentina, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has returned to England for treatment on an injury.

Spurs signed Lo Celso from Real Betis last month, and had real hope that he would become their new star playmaker, most likely in a post-Christian Eriksen world for Tottenham.

So far, he has been limited to substitute appearances as he improves his fitness levels and gets adjusted to life in the Premier League, but hopes of a start against Crystal Palace may now be dwindling.

Lo Celso picked up an injury on international duty with Argentina this weekend, as he was substituted after 53 minutes of the friendly with Chile.

Spurs fans have been worried about Lo Celso’s situation since he was replaced by Exequiel Palacios, and the news doesn’t look particularly great now.

Claims in Argentina suggest that Lo Celso has now left the Argentina squad to head back to England, where he will have treatment on his groin injury.

Spurs will hope that he can be eased back to fitness ahead of the game with Palace, but his journey back from Argentina won’t fill fans with confidence that this is just a knock.
