Jake Hastie of Rangers
The 20-year-old winger started out wide against Doncaster and was involved in the game very much, especially in the opening stages with his set-pieces.
The Scotland Under-21 international opened the scoring in the 37th minute with a wonderful free kick, and later he also provided a brilliant cross.
Warne decided to take off Hastie in the 76th minute, and after the match, he spoke highly of the Rangers-owned winger.
Warne told Rotherham’s official website about Hastie: “He was good, wasn’t he? He’s a really nice kid.”
Warne added: “He’s positive. He started the game quite shy, I thought, and then he grew into it and then he blew up bless him.
"But, all his set-pieces were good and on another day we take one of those and we’re 2-0 up.”
Developing in England
With Rangers having wingers such as Ryan Kent, Sheyi Ojo and Jordan Jones, it was always going to be hard for Hastie to play regularly for Gerrard’s team this season.
It made sense for Hastie to join Rotherham on loan, and develop and progress as a footballer in a competitive League One.
