Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the departure of Javi Gracia from Watford and has hit back at the Hornets regarding their 2019 jibe about Marco Silva.

Watford and Gracia have parted company today, and the Premier League club have re-appointed Quique Sanchez Flores as their new manager.

Sanchez was in charge of the Hornets during the 2015-16 campaign, and he has been brought back to Vicarage Road with the team currently at the foot of the Premier League table.

Back in January 2018, when Watford dismissed Marco Silva - who is now in charge of Premier League rivals Everton - and appointed Gracia as their manager, Lineker criticised the decision.

In January 2019, the Hornets hit back at the former Tottenham Hotspur and Everton striker, with the team doing well at the time under Gracia.

Lineker has now highlighted the old tweets and has criticised Watford their decision to dismiss Gracia, who guided the team to 11th in the Premier League table last season.
