Tottenham signed Lo Celso on transfer deadline day on a season-long loan deal from Real Betis. The Argentine midfielder is yet to start a game for his new side but he did get his first taste of the North London derby against Arsenal last weekend.
Speaking about his compatriot, Pochettino claimed that he will need time to settle in.
He said: "He is an incredible boy, I had talked with Kily González about him because he had him in the Central Reserve. He is a great footballer, he only needs time to adapt."
Central Reserve or Rosario Central as it is called in Argentina is one of the most famous clubs in the country. Lo Celso came through the ranks at the Academia and Pochettino would certainly have had an eye on him for one special reason - The Rosario Derby.
One of the most fiercely contested derbies in South America, the Rosario derby is in less than two weeks time when Central take on Mauricio Pochettino's old club Newell's Old Boys. The Spurs boss played over 150 games for the club and the rivalry between the two famous clubs could continue in North London.
Pochettino is still well aware of the rivalry and also joked that he and Lo Celso could bet on the result of the game on the 15th of September.
"The rivalry is to death, we are both very competitive, ha. Surely we are going to bet something."
Pochettino will be hoping that Lo Celso will be fit and ready to go once he returns from international duty where he supposedly picked up a groin injury. With a massive part of the season still to be played, the former PSG man could make a serious difference to Spurs' midfield this season.
