Could he follow in the footsteps of his predecessor and earn a move to Celtic Park?

A player Celtic signed on transfer deadline day has been replaced at his previous club by a lifelong Bhoys fan.

The Greg Taylor transfer sage was solved at the death, when the Scotland left-back moved from Kilmarnock to Celtic Park.

It followed weeks of speculation, which heightened upon the arrival of Niko Hamalainen from Queens Park Rangers.

But Hamalainen won’t walk straight into Taylor’s spot, after Stephen Hendrie joined Killie on Friday.

Hendrie, who began his career at Hamilton Academical before permanent spells at West Ham United and Southend United, admitted his allegiance towards Celtic while on the books at New Douglas Park.

And given that Celtic have often come to Rugby Park for players in recent years – Youssouf Mulumbu also starred at Killie before moving to Glasgow, while Kristoffer Ajer did likewise on loan there – Hendrie may feel that his Parkhead dream is not quite over yet, especially at just 24 years of age.
