The Wolverhampton Wanderers academy graduate is in Aidy Boothroyd’s Young Lions squad for their upcoming Euro 2021 qualifiers.

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White has outlined his hopes of getting his hands on the England Under-21s captaincy as they prepare to take part in the upcoming Euro 2021 qualifiers against Turkey and Kosovo (Daily Mail).
The midfielder is one of three players in the current U21s squad, along with Phil Foden and Reiss Nelson, who were part of the group that went to this summer’s European Championships in Italy and San Marino.
Although Gibbs-White only made the step up to the U21s in that tournament and featured as a substitute in the final game of the campaign, he has featured plentifully for Wolves over the past year and boasts over 50 senior club appearances (Transfermarkt).
“I’ve definitely got those qualities (leadership) and I’d love to be the captain of this incredible, talented Under 21 side,” Gibbs-White is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying. “We’re all still working hard so it’s up to the manager who he decides the captain is. I’m sure whoever it is will take to it like a duck to water.”

In the last two years, Gibbs-White has helped England win the Under-17s World Cup, made his Premier League debut in the opening fixture of 2018-19, and signed a new contract committing the next four-and-a-half seasons to Molineux, making him one to watch for club and country.
Aidy Boothroyd’s charges will face Turkey away on Friday and then lock horns with Kosovo in Hull three days later.
