Tottenham Hotspur have started the new Premier League campaign with one win from their opening four matches.

Hugo Lloris has warned Tottenham that they can’t afford to continue their current poor form because ‘this is the moment’ where they can win or lose European places and the chances of winning a trophy.
Tottenham’s goalkeeper also stated that the players ‘all know’ how important their home games are to their consistency, as they have picked up one win and suffered one defeat on home soil this season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have started off the season in an indifferent manner. They left it late to beat Aston Villa on the opening day, they were then lucky to draw at Manchester City, suffered a home defeat to Newcastle before starting off the month with a 2-2 draw at Arsenal.
Lloris has started every league game for Spurs this season, as he admitted that there’s ‘something missing’ from the team and that they have to focus and prove their worth as quickly as possible.
“I think, at the moment, there’s something missing from us. We will see later in the season because things turn very quickly in football,” Lloris told Sky Sports. “The most important thing is we focus on ourselves, to get points, to get consistency in the league. And we will see where we are in the table in April, in March.
“That is the moment when you can win or lose European places or trophies. At the moment, we don’t want to lose focus with that type of question. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the start we expected, even though we got good results against City and Arsenal away from home, we should’ve done better against Newcastle.
“We all know the importance of home games and when I talk about consistency, we have to capable of winning that type of game. There’s now already a gap between [Manchester City and Liverpool] and us.”

Lloris, who earns £100k-a-week at Spurs [Spotrac], has seen his backline concede six goals in their opening four matches this season.
Jan Vertonghen has only played in one of those games and it is fair to say that Spurs haven’t really put out their strongest XI.
They came pretty close to it against Arsenal, and in truth, they should have held onto their two-goal lead, but after the international break, they will be hoping to kick on and prove their worth.
