Dejan Lovren will stay at Liverpool until January 2020 at least.

The 30-year-old Croatia international has also revealed what Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp told him about letting him leave on loan.
Lovren told Sportske Novosti, as translated by The Mirror: “Yes, I did consider moving, I knew I gave my best for Liverpool, won CL and I am not kind of player that likes to be benched and earn money.
“Some people around me advised me ‘What do you care, you are in big club, shut up take the money’. But I am not happy on the bench.
“I feel very happy because all the time I felt LFC was by me, I respect that a lot. Klopp told me, ‘Listen, buddy, you are top class player, we will not let you go on loan. We need you’. I wanted to leave, it didn’t happen, I was told Liverpool needs me and I accepted that.”
Liverpool stay
With the summer transfer window now closed, Lovren is staying at Liverpool until January 2020 at least.
The 30-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield, but he remains a good option to have on the substitutes’ bench.
The former Lyon and Southampton star has a lot of experience, both in the Premier League and in the Champions League, and that will come handy for the Liverpool as the season progresses.

Stats
Lovren made 11 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool last season, scoring one goal in the process, according to WhoScored.
The defender also played 181 minutes in the Champions League for the Reds in 2018-19, according to WhoScored.
Back in 2017-18, the centre-back made 24 starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool and made 12 appearances in the Champions League, according to WhoScored.
