Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka gave away a penalty in the North London Derby last weekend.

Arsenal fans have been left fuming with Granit Xhaka following his comments after the North London Derby.
Arsenal picked up a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, but Xhaka’s performance in the contest was a poor one.
Xhaka gave away a penalty which Harry Kane duly dispatched for Spurs to put Mauricio Pochettino’s side into a 2-0 lead at the Emirates Stadium.
Thankfully for Xhaka his Arsenal teammates were able to bail him out of serious trouble, as they managed to come back and claim a point in a 2-2 draw.
But the £30 million (Guardian) midfielder’s comments to Sky Sports about the game have not gone down well with Gunners fans.

“Of course critics are always here,” he said. “The north London derby, I think we had a good game. I made a mistake with the penalty but if you saw the game, we could have won.
“We had a lot of chances but this is football. Nobody speaks about the chances, nobody speaks about how many we missed. They always speak about the mistakes.
“This is part of football.”
Xhaka is now facing calls to be dropped by Arsenal fans, who feel that he is no longer part of their strongest midfield.
Arsenal supporters are calling for Dani Ceballos, Mateo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira in the centre of the park, and the Spanish boss surely must be seriously tempted to give the trio a chance together now.
Arsenal’s next match after the international break comes against Watford at Vicarage Road.
