Wolverhampton Wanderers’ third kit is inspired by the Mexico home shirt, with Raul Jimenez a star for both the Molineux club and El Tri.

A number of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the Molineux club unveiling their third kit.
As images of the kit emerged on social media ahead of the official launch, Wolves officially revealed the kit on Wednesday and even made reference to the apparent leaks by admitting fans “may” have seen the kit before.
The Wolves third kit, designed by Adidas, appears very much inspired by Mexico’s home shirt – star striker Raul Jimenez impressing for both Wolves and El Tri – and in their Twitter announcement, the Molineux club listed both UK time and Mexico time in terms of when fans could pre-order the kit.
In addition, red and green also just so happen to be the primary colours in the Portugal flag, the Iberian nation having provided several players and manager Nuno Espirito Santo to the Wolves pack.
Needless to say the social media reaction amongst the Wanderers fans was overwhelmingly positive:
Wolves’ home shirt is in their traditional old gold and features a V-neck and the Adidas stripes located down either side, while the away kit features thin diagonal stripes across the main body of the all-black base layer of the kit, plus vivid orange trim (Radio Times).
