The Saints academy prodigy impressed in the narrow EFL Trophy loss at Forest Green Rovers in midweek.

A number of Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to call for Dan N’Lundulu to be picked for the Saints first team following his performance in the EFL Trophy against Forest Green Rovers and post-match comments (official Southampton website).
The 20-year-old forward was one of the youngest players named by Radhi Jaidi for Southampton’s Under-21s as they locked horns with last season’s League Two playoff semi-finalists at the New Lawn on Tuesday night.
The young Saints took a first-half lead through Harlem Hale’s composed finish, before Matty Stevens drew the hosts level and Dayle Grubb put them in front, only for N’Lundulu to strike back with a fine individual effort.
In the end, Southampton could not hang on as Stevens claimed his second of the night right at the death, and N’Lundulu described it as one of the toughest games he had played so far in his career.
“It was a hard game – probably one of the hardest games I’ve ever played. The boys fought through,” N’Lundulu told the official Saints website. “When we came back to 2-2, I thought we had the game. That’s when we need to keep positive, keep pushing on and get higher, but I think we just got unlucky.

“Us academy boys have never been on loan, so it’s a good experience for us to be playing against a League Two side. They’re physical and it’s very different to academy football. It’s a good test for us and we came out of this game with a positive, with a good reaction from Friday’s game.”
Here is what some Southampton fans said on social media about the highly rated attacker:
N’Lundulu, who was on the bench for the first team against Manchester United on Saturday, now has four goals in five games this season.
