The Glasgow Rangers man has once again left Ibrox on a loan deal, linking up with the Scottish Premiership strugglers.

Glasgow Rangers midfielder Jason Holt has been praised by St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright after the Scottish Premiership strugglers signed the Ibrox man on loan for the season (The Courier).
The 26-year-old Gers man has not been part of Steven Gerrard’s plans since his appointment at Ibrox last summer, and spent the 2018-19 campaign on loan at English side Fleetwood Town, where he made 33 appearances.
Holt has made more than 100 appearances for Rangers since being brought to the Ibrox side by Mark Warburton in the summer of 2015 (BBC Sport) and was loaned to Raith Rovers and Sheffield United during his time with Hearts.
Wright admits that talented young midfielder Ali McCann has done “brilliantly” for St Johnstone but wanted to bring help in for the teenager and believes that Holt fits the bill perfectly.
“I am delighted to get Jason in,” Wright is quoted by The Courier as saying. “He was one we targeted a while back so it was good to get it over the line. Jason and Stevie May were the two I wanted… we are a young team but Jason will add experience to it and I think he’ll be great for young Ali McCann.

“Ali has done brilliantly so far this season but at 19 it was always going to be a big ask for him to play 30-odd games. With Jason coming in, we have an experienced player – someone who has played for big clubs – in there to help him out and he’s definitely someone he’ll learn from.”
With Holt’s Rangers contract up next season, it looks as though his Ibrox future is very much coming to an end, especially given how much Gerrard has strengthened the midfield ranks over the past 12 months.
Saints, who are bottom of the Scottish Premiership, are next in action against Aberdeen a week on Saturday, while the Light Blues host Livingston at Ibrox on the same day.
