The Toffees summer signing will miss at least eight weeks of Goodison Park action due to injury.

Everton manager Marco Silva has pledged to give Jean-Philippe Gbamin all the support he needs as the summer signing recovers from a muscle problem which will sideline him for a minimum of eight weeks (official website).
The 23-year-old featured in Everton’s first two games of the season, making his Premier League debut off the bench at Crystal Palace before starting against Watford, but sustained a quadriceps injury in training days after his full Toffees debut.
With Gbamin – who joined from German club Mainz for an undisclosed fee reported by BBC Sport as being £25million – having experienced the setback so soon after not only changing clubs but moving countries, Silva stressed how important it was for everyone at the Goodison Park club to support him.
“It is really important that we support JP,” Silva said. “We have to be there in the bad moments. When they are in a good moment, you might just say ‘good morning’, and leave them to train and enjoy the day… but when they are in a not-so-good moment, they need all the support we can give them, starting from me as manager, to all the staff and their teammates.”

Silva also confirmed that, as Gbamin will continue his rehabilitation from the injury, he will also be present and involved in all the pre, mid and post-match analysis in order to become fully acquainted with the Everton style of play.
“The time out will help him in that way,” added Silva. “He will see many of our matches. He will be present when we analyse [Everton’s performances] with his teammates, when we start to analyse our opponents and what we should do in our games. He will be present in all those moments and they will be chances for him to learn.”
Everton fans will no doubt be heartened to see the first-team boss issue such an emphatic message of support for a player who needs it, another resounding sign of the “One Club” ethos which was also seen in the interaction between Marcel Brands and Moise Kean and his mother, as well as in Andre Gomes signing permanently for the Goodison Park outfit.
