Liverpool, Everton, Wolves and Leicester City are the Premier League clubs being linked with Wigan Athletic’s Joe Gelhardt.

Liverpool have a major advantage of Everton, Wolves and Leicester City as the race to sign Wigan Athletic wonder-kid Joe Gelhardt heats up.
Goal broke the news on Tuesday that four Premier League clubs are keeping close tabs on a teenage striker who has earned rave reviews for his performances at youth level for the Championship strugglers.
Gelhardt is also expected to make his England U18 debut this week as he continues to go from strength-to-strength, and caught the eye of Liverpool’s academy chief Alex Inglethorpe during a February Youth Cup clash against the Merseyside giants.
The report claims that Everton, Wolves and Leicester, three clubs who are building for the future as well as the present, are all interested in a player who has made just one league appearance for The Latics so far.
But beating Liverpool to the youngster’s signature could be easier said than done. Because, as the Mail points out, Scouse-native Gelhardt is a boyhood Liverpool fan.

The Champions of Europe are apparently lining him up to replace Bobby Duncan, the 18-year-old cousin of Steven Gerrard who sealed a controversial move to Fiorentina on the final day of the summer transfer window.
With Jurgen Klopp at the helm, Gelhardt would only benefit from a coach who has turned Mo Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson, Mats Hummels and Robert Lewandowski into some of the world’s best.
