Myhill has returned to The Hawthorns as West Brom’s new professional phase development goalkeeping coach.

A number of West Bromwich Albion fans – plus West Brom legend Ben Foster – have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the news that Boaz Myhill has returned to the Baggies in a coaching capacity, just two months after leaving The Hawthorns (official WBA website).
The 36-year-old, who made 85 appearances across nine years at Albion, has become the Baggies’ professional phase development goalkeeping coach, taking up the challenge of developing the steady stream of young keepers to come through West Brom’s academy.
Myhill, who makes the transition from playing to coaching, admitted that he did not hesitate “for a moment” from the moment Gary Walsh mentioned the role to him and did not think the opportunity would ever arise here as Mark Naylor had been at the club so long.
“It is so refreshing and I’m loving every minute of it,” Myhill told the official West Brom website. “As a player, you end up with the same 25 or 26 guys in the same dressing room with the same coach as your working day.

“One of the most interesting things is that in this post I am working with keepers from all age groups at the stadium, the academy or the training ground and it’s giving me a great variety of challenges. This is something I have always wanted to take on and I’m thrilled to have this opportunity.”
Here is what was said on social media regarding the announcement:
Myhill’s time at West Brom began in the summer of 2010 and was only interrupted by a one-season loan to Birmingham City for the 2011-12 season.
