Christian Eriksen started Tottenham Hotspur’s draw against their North London rivals over the weekend.

Paul Merson still expects Christian Eriksen to leave Tottenham Hotspur as he claimed that he and his agent will have something ‘sorted’ for January.
As reported by the Evening Standard, Eriksen has stayed at the club following the closure of the European transfer window as a move to Spain has not materialised.
On Sunday, he started Tottenham’s 2-2 draw against North London rivals Arsenal, as he opened the scoring after 10 minutes at the Emirates Stadium.
Speaking to The Debate on Sky Sports Premier League (02/09/2019 at 10:20 pm), despite the closure of the window, Merson thinks Eriksen will still leave the club as he claimed that he’ll be ‘another Ramsey’.
“Eriksen’s gone,” Merson told The Debate. “If he doesn’t go now, his agent would have sorted out something for January and he’ll be another Ramsey. Don’t worry about that.
“You will hear him say, ‘I love the club’ and all that. He’ll be sorted. There’s no way he’ll be signing [a new contract].”

Tottenham supporters, and their manager Mauricio Pochettino, will be able to rest easy for now because Eriksen will be staying at the club.
He started two of Spurs’ four Premier League matches this season as the unknown about what was going to happen to him was no doubt affecting the club.
But that point over the weekend, and the manner in which the team responded to their Newcastle defeat, proves that the club are now getting back on the right track.
