Celtic maintained their strong start to the season with a 2-0 win against Steven Gerrard’s Rangers at Ibrox at the weekend.
Odsonne Edouard put Celtic in the lead in the Scottish Premiership game after 32 minutes, and Jonny Hayes doubled the advantage in the third minute of injury time.
Rangers ended the game with 10 men due to the dismissal of Jordan Jones in the sixth minute of injury time.
Jones, who had come on as a substitute in the 70th minute, was shown a straight red card for a lunge on Moritz Bauer.
After the match, The Daily Record posted a picture of the winger leaving Ibrox on crutches, having injured himself while making the tackle on Bauer.
Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has stated on Twitter that it is “karma” that Jones injured himself in the tackle.
Meanwhile, Robbie Savage has made an observation about the transfer fee that Celtic paid for star striker Edouard, who scored the opening goal in the Old Firm derby.
Savage has pointed out that the Frenchman cost more than the entire Rangers starting lineup, perhaps suggesting that Celtic winning at Ibrox was not a big deal as they were expected to clinch maximum points from the encounter due to their financial strength.
According to Sky Sports, Celtic paid Paris Saint-Germain £9 million in transfer fees for Edouard in the summer of 2018 when they made his loan deal permanent.
