Newcastle United reportedly won’t bring Graham Carr back to the club.

According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce is planning to overhaul the club’s recruitment of youth team players.
Newcastle is a hotbed of football interest, but the Magpies have struggled to bring through talents for their first team in recent years.
Sean Longstaff is a current success story, but in years gone by, it’s been a struggle for Newcastle, with the likes of Fraser Forster, James Tavernier and Adam Armstrong having to move on.
Andy Carroll is back having come through the Newcastle ranks, but more needs to be done to ensure that the Magpies have exciting talents coming through the ranks.
Bruce is now allegedly planning to alter the club’s recruitment process for young players, and place more of a focus on scouting the grassroots scene in the local area.
However, it’s noted that former Newcastle scout Graham Carr isn’t returning to the club as part of Bruce’s plans, despite The Mirror claiming he may return following his 2017 exit under Rafael Benitez.

Bruce himself knows that Newcastle need to do more in the local area. He was with Wallsend Boys Club but was missed by the Magpies, meaning he had to go down to Gillingham to start his career.
The same happened with Michael Carrick, Alan Shearer and Peter Beardsley, who had to start out with West Ham United, Southampton and Carlisle United respectively.
Those cases show that Newcastle have room to improve despite Longstaff’s emergence, and this should be a step that Newcastle fans get behind.
