Declan Rice has told West Ham United’s official website that Felipe Anderson made him smile at one point of his side’s match against Norwich City.

Anderson is arguably West Ham’s most skilful operator, and his ability in possession makes him a hugely exciting player to watch.

The Brazilian put in what was his finest performance of the season for West Ham at the weekend, as they won 2-0 against Norwich.

And Anderson’s ability on the ball brought a smile on the face of Rice during the game.

“Watching Felipe, I just smiled at one point,” Rice admitted.

"He was on the wing and he backheeled it to Seb [Haller] and I just smiled!

“He’s top notch and we know the qualities he’s got. He could pass to me a bit more on the edge of the box so I could have a couple of shots! Every time Felipe plays, he has the fans out of their seats and that’s what we expect from him.”

Anderson’s link-up play with Haller is already looking like a major threat for West Ham.

Haller is able to hold the ball up well, and Anderson’s runs beyond him are causing opposition sides plenty of problems.

The Hammers have now won two matches on the spin, with momentum building at the London Stadium.

West Ham were dominant against a Norwich side who have looked impressive since promotion, and their performance showed the quality that Manuel Pellegrini has at his disposal.

West Ham are next in action against Aston Villa after the international break.
