Jack Harrison may have enjoyed a fantastic pre-season and may have made a bright start to the new campaign, but there are now plenty of Leeds fans suggesting that he should be dropped after the international break after his latest display for the Whites.
Marcelo Bielsa's men are off top spot in the Championship after Swansea City bagged a late goal to win 1-0 at Elland Road on Saturday. Leeds had 21 attempts on goal during the game, but could not find the back of the net and only managed to put three on target.
Part of the frustration for the Elland Road faithful appears to have been that Leeds did play well and dominated large parts of the game, but the same problem that cost them last season reemerged to cost them again.
But there were also one or two players whose performances have been criticised, and one of those is Harrison, who endured a disappointing afternoon against the Swans.
Whoscored.com shows that he completed just one successful dribble after attempting four, while Patrick Bamford was the only Leeds starter to complete fewer passes than the Manchester City-owned man.
Harrison looked set to enjoy an outstanding campaign following his return to Leeds for a second loan spell in the summer. He was brilliant in pre-season and quickly opened his account with an opening day goal at Bristol City.
But with Helder Costa awaiting his first league start for the club, there are plenty of fans who believe that the time has come for Harrison to be left out of the starting lineup so the Portuguese can show what he can do. Harrison's time will come again, but some feel that he needs to be taken out of the side for now.
Here is how some of the supporters reacted to Harrison's display...
Costa needs to start over harrison. So much more end product & has more assists in sub apps.— Tony LUFC (@Tonylufc28) September 1, 2019
Just got back from Leeds and 2 observations:— Dom (@SpudofAmersham) August 31, 2019
1. Swansea are a decent team
2. Costa has to start in place of Harrison #lufc
Harrison has to start doing something with these positions he gets himself into. I really like him as a talent but he’s not delivering in the final third...— James (@JamesLUFC) August 31, 2019
And harrison needs dropping he couldnt take on a 12 year old .. Costa must start and nketiah.. SORT IT BIELSA @LUFC— keith burke (@keithburke23) August 31, 2019
One day I’ll see somebody get on the end of a Harrison cross. One day.— stujeffery (@Stuart_Jeffery) August 31, 2019
But not today, he’s been garbage.
Needlessly gave away the corner that resulted in them scoring the winner.
Not his best week.#lufc
My hot take is never pick Bamford and Harrison again and we'll be fine #LUFC— Garry (@garabe) August 31, 2019
