Tottenham Hotspur have been pretty busy this summer in regards to transfers and some players may still leave before Monday’s European deadline.

Jamie Carragher has seemingly disagreed with Tottenham Hotspur duo Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy holding clear-the-air talks before the North London derby.

The Telegraph have claimed that Levy and Pochettino met at a central London restaurant on Thursday evening, three days before their clash against Arsenal, amid speculation about the Argentine’s future.

There has been a lot of things bubbling under the surface at Tottenham in recent weeks, with Spurs picking up four points prior to their draw against Arsenal on Sunday.

Speaking to Sky Sports Premier League (31/08/2019 20:25 pm), Carragher explained why Levy and Pochettino left it too late to hold clear-the-air discussions.

“Something doesn’t look quite right I think the manager has come out and said that he went for a meal with Daniel Levy and ironed out a few problems,” Carragher told Sky Sports.

“In some ways, those problems, it’s a bit late now. The problems I am sure have been about the transfer window. The transfer window shuts in two days, certainly in terms of selling players.”

Tottenham have come a long way since Pochettino walked through the doors of the North London club, but that trophy still eludes them.

With Spurs moving into their stadium and being active during the summer transfer window, many supporters would have hoped that this was the season where they took the next step.

It remains to be seen if that happens and what type of performances Spurs put in during the cup competitions, especially the domestic ones where they have a great chance of lifting some silverware.
