Former Everton loanee Kurt Zouma suffered a disaster with Chelsea.

Everton picked up a 3-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers this afternoon, and Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma may have wished he was a part of it.

Zouma, 24, spent last season on loan at Everton and enjoyed a fine campaign, leading to interest from the Toffees in securing him permanently.

BBC Sport reported that Everton were looking at a deal worth at least £30million, but with Chelsea working under a transfer ban, no deal was done.

Frank Lampard has given Zouma a chance to feature in the Chelsea back line, but the Blues are leaking goals at the moment – and that was the case again on Saturday.

Chelsea were 2-0 up against newly-promoted Sheffield United, but Callum Robinson hauled the Blades back into the contest before Zouma scored an own goal to hand Chris Wilder’s men an unexpected point.

Zouma has been criticised in the early stages of the season, and there may be a real chance that he’s dropped once Antonio Rudiger returns from injury.

Everton fans of course saw his own goal, but rather than be put off by it, they’ve been calling for him to ‘come home’ when the January transfer window opens.

Some believe it’s ‘genius’ by Marcel Brands as his price tag will drop with his disappointing displays, with others adding that Zouma is working hard to make sure he’s an Everton player come 2020.
