Tottenham Hotspur Jan Vertonghen is yet to make an appearance for Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season.

Tottenham Hotspur fans are not happy with the rumours that Jan Vertonghen could yet join Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

Vertonghen has, rather bizarrely, been dropped from Tottenham’s starting line-up in the opening weeks of the campaign.

With the Belgian international having just a year left on his current deal at Hotspur Way, there has now been suggestions that Mauricio Pochettino’s side could offload the centre-back.

And, according to Kicker, Leverkusen are now interested in signing the Spurs defender.

Spurs fans are certainly not impressed with the rumours that Vertonghen could depart, as they feel he has a crucial part to play still, even if Pochettino isn’t currently picking him.

Pochettino faces a tough decision over whether to bring Vertonghen back into Tottenham’s line-up this weekend for their match against Arsenal.

Davinson Sanchez has been shaky in Spurs’s first few fixtures this season, and there is a sense that Vertonghen would offer the Lilywhites far more stability at the back.

Tottenham are under huge pressure to pick up a victory against Arsenal, otherwise serious question will be asked after a poor start.
