Tottenham Hotspur supporters are annoyed on Twitter at Mauricio Pochettino's comments about Christian Eriksen and the drama surrounding his future.
For the second time in three Premier League matches, Eriksen was left out of Pochettino's starting XI, with his absence resulting in Spurs producing lacklustre displays.
Over the weekend, they suffered a 1-0 defeat against Newcastle, and despite Eriksen's introduction in the second half, they still lost the encounter.
After the game, Pochettino admitted that he is unsure as to whether Eriksen will play for the North London club again, as reported by BBC Sport.
It has left a number of Tottenham fans on social media fuming as they want the situation resolved with once and for all.
There are some putting the blame on Pochettino's shoulders because they feel he should come out and say how much Eriksen means to the club and that they want to keep him.
Added with that, there is another who feels that amid all this chaos off the field, that Pochettino could walk as pressure mounts on those associated with the club.
Things don't get easier for Pochettino because on Sunday, they will make the short trip to the Emirates Stadium to take on their bitter rivals Arsenal. But will Eriksen play?
Here is a selection of Tottenham fans reacting on Twitter to Pochettino's comments about Eriksen:
Shouldn't the answer be 'we want to do everything we can to keep a player of Christian's ability at our club'.— Richie (@richielee81) August 27, 2019
At least make CE feel loved and wanted and show that you have a clue what's happening with your players as the manager of our football club. Don't like this
What about sending a message to CE and to the rest of the team that he is valued, prized and a total asset to our Spurs side. Let the team know he cares about them and speaks highly of them. Too many times he speaks negatively of current and departing players.— Bru Young (@iBruYoung) August 27, 2019
You cannot say 'I don't know don't ask me' - you are the manager!— John Box (@JohnRBox) August 27, 2019
It’s on Poch. If Eriksen is fit and mentally ready he plays. If not, he’s not in the squad. On the bench is half in half out makes no sense. Same with Jan. this season has started poorly. Stop blaming contracts and sort it out.— Graham Butcher (@gbn9000) August 25, 2019
Has he been watching back Mourinho press conferences?— Miguel (@louivasco) August 25, 2019
Levy will sell him because he only cares about money....I fully expect poch to walk this season— jimbob (@jimbob19244982) August 27, 2019
Unpopular opinion erisken should not play for spurs every again until he signs a new contract— owen (@MoussaNdombele) August 26, 2019
