Stoke City fans are reacting after one of their players joined Celtic on a season-long loan.
The Stoke right-back Moritz Bauer will see out the campaign at Celtic Park, where he could return on a permanent basis if the Bhoys choose to exercise their buying option.
But despite being an ever-present in the team that dropped to the Championship that campaign, the new Celtic recruit has played just 11 times since then. And he heads to Glasgow without a competitive experience behind him all season.
But what do those of a Stoke persuasion make of Bauer's move? This is what some of them are saying on Twitter...
Talented defender going forward but has no positional awareness at all and not a great tackler either. May be worth trying to convert him into a winger— Utch Stokie ⚽️ (@UtchStokie) August 28, 2019
Good luck Moritz I think if he were on the wing he'd do good— Jake Boot (@JakeBoot7137812) August 28, 2019
Average player with no bottle for a fight. May well look very good in a winning side, so Celtic may well see the “best” of him.— Knock It Wide (@KnockItWide) August 28, 2019
Thanks for literally nothing though Moritz.
Decent talent but no footballing brain and clearly a shit attitude. Good riddance.— DanielJBooth (@DanielJBooth1) August 28, 2019
Don’t know what happened to him at all during his second season or why he fell so far out of favour but see ya later .... another one of them gone. Few more to go.— Will (@Will_Meigh) August 28, 2019
Good luck Moritz hope it works out for you and you are given a fairer chance than you were at SCFC.— Tim (@taddison64) August 28, 2019
The Bauer deal seems a good move for all parties. He will be quality in the SPL to be fair.— Ben (@ScfcBen) August 28, 2019
Bauer ends Celtic's months-long search for a specialist right-back, after the Bhoys saw Mikael Lustig, Cristian Gamboa and Jeremy Toljan depart at the end of last term.
Stoke fans - what do you make of Bauer's move?
