Leeds United fans are mocking the England international on Twitter.
Leeds United fans on Twitter are trolling Jack Butland.
The Stoke City goalkeeper contributed to Marcelo Bielsa's side being knocked out of the League Cup at Elland Road last night.
It finished 2-2 in regulation and Butland was among the away players who scored during the 5-4 shootout win.
But his horrendous error midway through the second half led to Leeds striker Eddie Nketiah pulling a goal back for United, who were 2-0 behind at the break.
Here's how fans of the West Yorkshire club reacted to his post-match message on Twitter:
Never give up, never back down, love these lads pic.twitter.com/yAOxpLecN6— Jack Butland (@JackButland_One) August 27, 2019
Worst keeper in the league— Jonny Dunnell (@jonnydunnell) August 28, 2019

Jeez man it’s only a cup game your still bottom of the league— Emma Brennan (@EmBraced66) August 27, 2019
Wouldn’t have needed the penalties if you hadn’t cocked up earlier tho Jack. Eh ?— Peter Young (@PeterYoung4) August 28, 2019
sorry lad, you’re done as a keeper .. seriously, scoring a pen against #lufc does not make you a keeper .. you will stay on bench at Stoke, then bounce around lower leagues .. how can you love those overpaid oxygen thieves at Stoke? lucky, not good, not worth celebrating— DelGarde (@delmeister1) August 28, 2019
Butland, valued at £20 million during the summer [The Sun], has indeed been quite erratic for the Potters this season, but the combination of scoring a penalty and being on the winning team last night might result in a restoration of confidence and morale.
Leeds can't afford to dwell on this, though. On Saturday, Bielsa's side host Swansea City in a top-of-the-table Championship clash.
