Is Harry Kane struggling for Tottenham Hotspur, despite scoring twice in three games?
Jermaine Jenas has told BBC Radio 5 Live that he hasn’t been blown away by Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane this season.
Kane struggled again on Sunday as Spurs lost 1-0 to Newcastle United in North London.
The Tottenham hitman, who could and should have won a penalty that day, was also somewhat underwhelming against Manchester City and Aston Villa in recent weeks, despite scoring twice against the latter.
The 25-year-old had 125 Premier League goals in 181 appearances before this season kicked off, underlining his importance to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
But former Tottenham midfielder Jenas believes that he has been ‘really poor’ so far.
He said: “Harry Kane has been really poor as yet. He got his two goals [against Aston Villa] to dispel the talk of the August situation.
“But the facts are he didn’t do much against [Manchester City] or Villa in terms of his general play and he didn’t against Newcastle either.”
If Kane is struggling, he’ll bounce back. That’s what he does and has been doing for a number of years now.
Any time the Tottenham star is written off or going through a rough patch, he answers the critics emphatically and no doubt he’ll do the same to Jenas and anybody else who questions his form.
