Victor Camarasa hasn’t made a Premier League appearance for Crystal Palace but will Roy Hodgson field him against Colchester United in the Carabao Cup?

Victor Camarasa will make his Crystal Palace debut in Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup second round clash against Colchester United at Selhurst Park, according to the Evening Standard.

Palace signed the Spanish schemer on loan from Real Betis with an option to buy in August, the 25-year-old returning to the Premier League after an impressive loan spell at Cardiff City last season.

Camarasa stood out in a workmanlike Bluebirds team, scoring five largely spectacular goals while providing skill and vision in the centre of the park. No wonder a Palace side so over-reliant on Wilfried Zaha in the final third were keen to add him to their ranks.

For whatever reason, however, the former Levante star has not featured so far in the red and blue stripes – despite being fully fit and ready to make his mark.

But that is about to change. The Standard claims that Camarasa will make his first appearance in Crystal Palace colours when League Two Colchester come to town tonight.

Palace, like so many top flight clubs, are set to rotate their starting XI in the cup and Camarasa is just one of many players who should be given a chance to shine under Roy Hodgson.
