Leeds United remained at the top of the Championship with an emphatic victory.

Stuart Dallas has told Leeds’ official website that the atmosphere created by the Whites supporters who travelled to the bet365 Stadium on Saturday made the 3-0 victory over Stoke City feel like a home game for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Leeds retained their spot at the top of the Championship as goals from Dallas, Gjanni Alioski and Patrick Bamford saw them take apart the struggling Potters and heap the pressure on Nathan Jones.

Despite Stoke’s struggles, the atmosphere inside the ground was quite something, and that was down to the Leeds supporters who came in numbers and had plenty to cheer, with both Alioski and Bamford scoring right in front of them.

And Dallas expressed his delight that Leeds were able to put on the kind of display that vindicated the fans’ decision to turn up in vast numbers.

“It just sounds like a home game when you have an away end like that, it’s incredible, they’ve come here today and they’ve sold out the away section as they do every week and it just sounds like a home game,” he told the club’s official website.

“As I’ve said, it’s a good away performance for us and it’s a good start for us but one thing we’ve learnt from last year is we can’t look too far forward and I know everyone says it but we’ve got to take one game at a time – and that starts with our next game on Tuesday night.”

Leeds are doing all they can at this stage of the season to banish the agonising memories from last season. While they cannot fully exorcise their demons until the campaign reaches the business end, they are making a great start as they look to ensure that they are in a good position later on in the year.

What should worry a lot of the Championship is that Bielsa’s men do appear to have stepped up their game this term, and look determined to make sure that they clear that final hurdle this time around.
