Jordan Jones was in action for Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers this afternoon.
Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Jordan Jones against St. Mirren.
Jones was in action for Rangers in their Scottish Premiership game against St. Mirren away from home at the The Simple Digital Arena on Sunday afternoon.
The 24-year-old winger started the match and played for 67 minutes, as Steven Gerrard’s side won 1-0.
The Northern Ireland international is a very good winger who joined Rangers in the summer transfer window on a free after leaving Kilmarnock.
The former Middlesbrough prospect has been playing well for the Gers this season, but on Sunday afternoon, he was not at his best against St Mirren.
Jones struggled to make a huge impact on the game and did not trouble the St. Mirren defence much.
Borna Barisic scored the only goal of the match in the 59th minute, as Rangers maintained their good start to the season.
Rangers fans were not impressed with the performance of Jones against St. Mirren and have criticised the winger on Twitter.
Below are some of the best comments:
Jones isn’t a Rangers player I’m afraid. Watched him closely from Day 1.— Gordy. (@hads_gh) August 25, 2019
Can’t agree mate Arfield has been one of our most industrious and creative players.Jones has been diabolical.— Slim Jim (@JimBaxter31) August 25, 2019
There’s no space for any of the forwards to work in. Jones should be taking men on and beating them more often though.— Andy (@RockiesRanger) August 25, 2019
Rangers’ left side has been non-existent. Jones is a liability against a low block. Barisic looks totally negative, shorn of confidence. A tricky situation: how can he regain his confidence without playing? But how can you play him ahead of Flanagan or Halliday?— Nick Iyengar (@AnalyticsNick) August 25, 2019
These type of games are not for Jones. He needs space to run into.— Faceless (@FacelessRanger) August 25, 2019
I’d have Aribo further forward at LAM and take Jones off for Davis to move into CM. Game more suited to Morelos too.
St Mirren very well organised and hard to break down but we have been very poor. Sloppy in possesion in the final third and very predictable. Jones in particular has been poor. Ojo on and get Alfredo on with Defoe as well. #Rangers— PeterJWhalen (@PeterJWhalen7) August 25, 2019
