Glasgow Rangers youngster Dapo Mebude is winning a lot of admirers amongst the Ibrox faithful.

A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to laud Dapo Mebude after the attacker bagged a brace as the Gers’ development side beat their Ajax counterparts 4-3 in an enthralling game.

Mebude had been involved in the first goal and put the Light Blues in a commanding position before the break as he ensured that Graeme Murty’s men took a 3-0 lead into the interval.

The 18-year-old scored two goals before Nathan Young-Coombes seemed to ensure that the win was secure by making the scoreline 4-0 shortly after the start of the second-half.

Ajax made the game very interesting towards the end by scoring three times. But Rangers picked up a hugely impressive victory, and once again, it was Mebude who was lauded by the supporters on social media.

The striker has had a taste of first-team football, having made his debut for Steven Gerrard’s side towards the end of last season. And some of the fans are backing the teenager to get back into the senior side in the near future.

The presence of both Jermain Defoe and Alfredo Morelos will make it extremely difficult for youngsters like Mebude to force their way up the pecking order. But some of the supporters clearly feel that Mebude can contribute as Gerrard’s third striker.
