Manuel Pellegrini started the former Fulham right-back for the third game in succession in this afternoon’s win at Watford.

But suffice to say that quite a few West Ham supporters aren’t liking the 26-year-old, signed by Mario Husillos last summer.

Fredericks has plenty of pace, but he couldn’t put it to much use this afternoon and looked rather unsure of himself in defence.

One second-half moment in particular summed up his confidence when a back pass to Lukasz Fabianski resulted in a corner for the Hornets, which thankfully came to nothing.

The West Ham boss had Pablo Zabaleta on the bench, but Pellegrini seems to prefer Fredericks for now but, after another questionable display, it remains to be seen whether the Chilean keeps faith against Norwich City next week.
