Danny Schofield helped Leeds United’s U23s win the Professional Development League last season – now he’s heading to Championship rivals Boro.

Leeds United’s U23 assistant coach Danny Schofield has walked away from Elland Road to take on a similar role at Championship rivals Middlesbrough, according to the Gazette.
The 39-year-old has been a key figure behind the scenes at West Yorkshire since joining the Elland Road ranks in 2016. Schofield formed something of a managerial dream team alongside the highly-rated Carlos Corberan as Leeds’ impressive U23 side won the Professional Development League Northern League title earlier this year.
They then completed a clean sweep by beating Birmingham City in a dramatic penalty shoot-out to be crowned nationwide champions of the PDL.
But Schofield will not be coaching the likes of Ryan Edmondson, Jack Clarke and Mateusz Bogusz this season after moving north to join the academy staff at Middlesbrough.
According to The Gazette, he will replace the departed Graeme Lee.

It remains to be seen who will be chosen to succeed Schofield alongside Corberan. Will Leeds promote from within or instead look outside for a new addition to their U23 coaching team?
And Schofield, who represented Huddersfield Town and Yeovil during his playing days, will be hoping to replicate his success at Leeds in new surroundings.
