Aston Villa have lost their opening two Premier League games of the season.

Aston Villa have not made a good start to the season and have lost both of their Premier League games.

Villa lost their opening Premier League game of the season 3-1 to Tottenham Hotspur at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London.

Then last weekend, Dean Smith’s side went down 2-1 to Bournemouth at Villa Park in the league.

It must be quite disappointing for the Villa fans, but Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson has some positive words for the Villans.

The BBC pundit believes there is an identity about Villa, and that a structure is in place at the Villans.

Lawrenson wrote on BBC Sport about Villa: “They have spent a lot of money in the transfer window but you can see they have a structure in place. There is a real identification about them.”

Staying positive

Villa made a number of signings in the summer transfer window, including Wesley Moraes and Douglas Luiz, and it will take time for the new additions to settle into life at Villa Park.

Smith is a very good manager who can get the best out of the players he has at his disposal, and the Villa Park faithful should have faith in him and in his methods.
