Mark Lawrenson has suggested on BBC Sport that Everton will have to be patient with Moise Kean.

The Liverpool legend has said that Kean is “like a new toy”, and although he has praised the 19-year-old forward’s ability, he has suggested that the teenager needs time and has to be afforded patience.

Lawrenson wrote on BBC Sport: “New signing Moise Kean is still young so you have to be patient with him. He has the ability and he's like a new toy. How is he going to work?”

One for the future

Kean is a very talented and promising young forward who has arrived at Everton with a strong reputation.

It will be a bit too much to ask the youngster to start banging in the goals for the Toffees rightaway, as he will take some time to settle into life in the Premier League.

After all, the Italy international is only 19 years of age, and he is not the finished article yet.

According to WhoScored, Kean has played 39 minutes in the Premier League for Everton so far this season.

Marco Silva’s side will return to action on Friday evening when they take on Aston Villa away from home at Villa Park in the Championship.
