Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane scored twice against Aston Villa boss Dean Smith’s side this season.
Aston Villa boss Dean Smith has commented at his latest press conference, which was broadcast on the club’s official Youtube channel, that he thinks Tottenham Hotspur would want £100 million for Harry Kane.
Kane scored twice against Villa on opening day, to provide Tottenham with the three points.
And Smith took heart from the fact that Tottenham did have to struggle to get a result against them.
Spurs eventually won the game 3-1, but Kane scored both his goals in the final few minutes.
And Smith said: “We won’t have many games tougher than Tottenham away, and it took them until the the last four minutes to take our point away from us.
“That was somebody who would probably cost £100 million in Harry Kane.”
In truth Smith’s valuation of Kane may actually be on the conservative side.
The England captain is such a valuable player for Tottenham, that even at £100 million it would be a shock if Mauricio Pochettino’s side sold him.
Kane looks in sharp form this term, after having a prolonged rest and a full pre-season.
The Spurs front-man will have a good chance to increase his goalscoring tally at the weekend, as Pochettino’s side are taking on struggling Newcastle United.
