The Glasgow Rangers veteran is impressed by his Ibrox teammate’s displays this season for Steven Gerrard’s charges.
Glasgow Rangers midfielder Steven Davis has spoken highly of Ibrox teammate Alfredo Morelos, saying his displays against Midtjylland are two of his most complete performances since his return to Ibrox, as reported by the Glasgow Evening Times.
The Gers forward has scored an impressive nine goals in only eight appearances this term, and between him and Ibrox strike partner Jermain Defoe, the two have bagged 15 goals this season, their healthy rivalry up front proving beneficial for the whole team.
Morelos is set to lead the line in the Europa League playoff first leg away at Legia Warsaw this evening as Steven Gerrard’s charges hope to carry on their good work so far in 2019-20 and Davis reckons there is plenty more to come from the Colombian, commenting in particular on how the Midtjylland displays showcased a level of maturity higher than last year.
“I think (Morelos) is very good and he has got a lot of potential still to fulfil as well,” Davis is quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times as saying. “The goals to games ratio is outstanding and we all know that he is a massive player for us.
“His performances against Midtjylland are two of his most complete performances in my time here over the course of the whole games and everything he brought to it. There was a maturity to him as well on from what we have seen last season. He is always improving, he is getting better and I am sure he will continue in that trend.”
Rangers embark on a busy 10 days ahead of the international break which sees them face Legia home and away this Thursday and next, with St Mirren away in the Scottish Premiership sandwiched in between this coming Sunday, and next Sunday, the Old Firm derby, where the Ibrox side will hope to strike an early blow against their bitter rivals.
