Jack Grealish led Aston Villa to promotion from the Championship last season.

Aston Villa supporters on Twitter are truly stunned that boyhood fan Jack Grealish doesn’t know when the club was founded.

Playmaker Grealish posted on his personal Twitter account of him taking a ‘stress test’ where every time he provides a wrong answer to a question, he is given an electric shock.

The 23-year-old was asked a number of questions, such as how many goals he scored for Villa last season to who the shortest player at the club is.

Then he was asked when Villa were founded, the boyhood fan should have given the answer of ‘1874’, but instead, he answered 1882, as you can see below:

It is fair to say that many Villa supporters on Twitter were well and truly shocked that Grealish didn’t know such a significant piece of information about the club.

If this was any other player then it would have been accepted by the fans because they are not born and bred Villa fans like Jack is, but for him to get the answer wrong is both hilarious and surprising, all at the same time.

It could be argued that Grealish said ’82 as the answer because Villa did win the European Cup in 82, but that was 1982, so he perhaps may have been confused from that.

Nonetheless, Grealish has come through the ranks at the Midlands giants and last season he guided the club back to the Premier League, as they beat Derby County in the Championship play-off final.

Here is a selection of Villa fans reacting to Grealish’s comments
