The Villa Park academy graduate will spend time with the Sky Blues - who are groundsharing with Birmingham City.
The 21-year-old, who has made nine appearances for the Villa Park side and was at the Villans' pre-season camp in Minnesota, spent the second half of last season on loan at Carlisle United in League Two.
O'Hare featured 16 times for the Cumbrians in 2018-19, scoring three goals and registering three assists as they made a late bid for a playoff finish, falling just short in the end.
“I’m buzzing to finally get the deal done and to get down here," he told the official Coventry website. “I’m looking forward to get going and I can’t wait, I like the way they play here, and I think it’s a good club.
“I want to get more experience and hopefully do something really good with the team. As I said, I’m feeling good, I’m buzzing and I can’t wait to get started.”
Villa, meanwhile, confirmed the news about the Solihull-born ace with a Twitter post, and some of the claret and blue faithful took to the social media platform in response:

He's rated as highly as Grealish was. He's our best upcoming youth player. Still needs to grow as a player of course but is so talented.— Kev Wilson (@luckysalt) 22 August 2019

He's 21, and has to start showing he can make an impact at some point.
Talented lad, and I wish him the best of luck. Make the most of the move mate!#AVFC
O'Hare - who reportedly signed a new deal earlier this year until 2020 according to the Birmingham Mail - came through the ranks at Villa Park, progressing from the youth team to the Under-23s.
The Sky Blues, who sit third in the League One table after four games, two points off the top, face Gillingham at St Andrew's on Saturday.
