The one-time City Ground loanee is now at Pride Park but was poor for the Rams against Bristol City.
The Everton midfielder played 43 games on loan at Forest during the 2017-18 season, scoring 10 goals and registering five assists (Transfermarkt), while last term, he made 16 appearances for the Blades, helping them win promotion to the Premier League.
Now on loan at Derby, Dowell has struggled at times for Phillip Cocu's side and, against the Robins, he put in a largely lacklustre performance that earned him a mere 4 out of 10 rating in the Derby Telegraph.
Here is what was said on social media by some Reds fans:
Agent Dowell is doing a good job. Derby fans don’t seem to like him. #nffc— Matty P ⚽ (@MattyPNFFC) 20 August 2019
All them Derby fans crowing about getting dowell seem to learning a few lessons we all knew already #nffc— Peter Ottaway (@pete_ottaway) 20 August 2019
We all thought Dowell was a bit of a Judas when in fact he was just undercover, good lad #nffc— Happy Clapper (@JackDan75429892) 20 August 2019
Forgot Dowell had signed for the sheep until my TL all of a sudden got filled with them complaining about him #NFFC— Emma-Louise ⚽️⚪ (@emseditorial) 20 August 2019
Dowell has come through the ranks at Everton but to this day he has made just five appearances for the senior side, according to Transfermarkt.
Derby will lock horns with Forest three times this season, the first East Midlands derby of the season taking place next Tuesday at the City Ground in the Carabao Cup, then in the Championship - again in Nottingham - on 9 November, and the reverse league fixture takes place at Pride Park on 4 April next year.
