Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has opted to loan Jack Roles to Cambridge United, to get him regular game-time.

Cambridge United fans are raving about Tottenham Hotspur youngster Jack Roles after his debut last night.

Roles’s departure from Tottenham was only announced yesterday afternoon, but by the evening he was starting for Cambridge.

The U’s picked up a 3-2 victory over Scunthorpe United last night, in what was a topsy turvy game.

And Spurs fans will be delighted to see the reaction to Roles’s performance by those in attendance.

Roles has caught the eye at development squad level for Tottenham, but this is his first chance of gaining regular first-team football.

The youngster is highly regarded by Mauricio Pochettino, who will almost certainly be keeping close tabs on his progress.

Roles was on tour with Tottenham’s first-team over pre-season, and even was offered game time as Pochettino’s men won the Audi Cup.

Roles should start again for Cambridge at the weekend, when they take on Oldham Athletic.
