Tottenham Hotspur fans can't believe latest Christian Eriksen rumour

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino reportedly turned down the chance to swap Christian Eriksen for Paulo Dybala.

Tottenham Hotspur fans cannot believe the latest rumour in the Daily Mail, which suggested that Mauricio Pochettino turned down the chance to swap Christian Eriksen and Paulo Dybala.

Tottenham were known to be admirers of Dybala, but failed to get a move over the line on deadline day.

The Mail have now claimed that Tottenham had a chance to get hold of the Argentine sooner, but they were unprepared to offer Eriksen in exchange.

If Pochettino did make that decision it seems like a strange one, as Tottenham could risk losing Eriksen on a free transfer, with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.

But most Spurs fans think that the latest transfer report is completely fanciful.

Eriksen’s future at Tottenham is still fairly uncertain, with just over a week left of the European transfer window.

Eriksen has featured in both of Spurs’s Premier League matches to date this season, but he could still depart before the end of the month.

Tottenham are unlikely to be happy to lose Eriksen on a free transfer next summer, which means that if a significant offer comes in for him, he could be sold.
