Championship table-toppers Leeds United and Premier League outfit West Ham United have both been linked with former La Liga midfielder Nemanja Radoja.
West Ham United won’t be signing Nemanja Radoja any time soon, contrary to reports.
TEAMtalk claimed over the weekend that a Serbian international midfielder could be on his way to the London Stadium.
Radoja was released by Celta Vigo earlier in the summer after missing the entirety of last season with a serious injury and, as a result, he can be signed anytime, anywhere, even after the transfer window has slammed shut.
But The Hammers need to sell before they sign.
According to Football London, there is no room in West Ham’s 25-man Premier League squad for another player over 21, free agent or otherwise. To make space for Radoja, Manuel Pellegrini will have to find a buyer for one of his players with two weeks remaining in the European window.
Fortunately for Leeds, they don’t have the same restrictions.
TEAMtalk believes that Elland Road is also a potential destination for Radoja, a defensively minded midfielder with a fine passing range. He averaged an 86 per cent pass completion rate in his last season in Celta’s first-team. Even Kalvin Phillips, West Yorkshire’s answer to Andrea Pirlo, cannot match those levels of accuracy.
With 44 games to go in a gruelling Championship campaign, Leeds need all the players they can get and Radoja would provide not only cover but quality in Marcelo Bielsa’s ranks.
If they really want him, now is the time to make a move.
