Celtic are said to be closing in on bringing Jordon Ibe to Parkhead to strengthen Neil Lennon's squad.
Ibe was once regarded as one of the hottest prospects in English football, but he hasn’t made much of an impact at Bournemouth after moving from Liverpool.
Celtic will be looking to get Ibe back to his best if he does make the switch to Parkhead.
“It wasn’t the step overs and nutmegs but he showed maturity in a game like that at an early age, it’s his maturity to understand the game,” Henry said in 2015, after Ibe shone for Liverpool against Southampton.
“The way he was tucking in to show he can cover his back three and the midfielders, he never gave up, he worked hard for his team-mates and that’s how you gain the respect of team-mates. That is why he is playing for Liverpool.”
And Carragher was similarly impressed by the Celtic target.
“His understanding of the game for such a young player is brilliant to see,” Carragher said.
“The players Liverpool have brought in have shown promise but a big thing for Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool’s academy is bringing young players through and it looks like Liverpool have another one with Ibe.”
The effusive praise off the two high profile pundits shows just how much talent Ibe has.
If Celtic can bring him in and get the skilful winger back to his best then he has the potential to be one of the stand out players in Scotland.
And the arrival of Ibe should help lift the mood around Parkhead if it does happen.
