Grace Davies competed on the ITV singing show back in 2017 but what is the songstress doing now?

The X Factor has been an ever-present fixture in our Saturday night TV schedule since the music competition show first hit our screens back in 2004.

Hundreds, if not thousands, of contestants have come and gone, with some leaving greater marks on the music industry than others.

JLS, Little Mix and One Direction are all high-profile graduates of the ITV talent show but there is one artist who recently returned to the forefront of the public's attention after her audition video re-surfaced online.

Grace Davies, who competed in the 2017 series of The X Factor had slipped out of public consciousness after her run on the show ended but thanks to her viral audition video, which has earned an impressive 21 million views on the Facebook page X Factor Global, she's very much back on the agenda.

Who is Grace Davies?

When she first auditioned for The X Factor back in 2017, Grace Davies was little more than a warehouse assistant from the Lancashire town of Blackburn.

The 20-year-old (now 22), took the judges by storm at her first audition on the X Factor as she performed an original song, titled 'Roots', which saw her progress to the later rounds of the show with four yes votes and left judge Nicole Scherzinger in tears.

How did she perform on The X Factor?

After resounding success in her audition, Grace Davies made superb progress on the ITV talent show.

Along the way, she showcased her own original songs in each round of the competition, a real first for the programme which normally sees artists perform covers of well-known songs.

Grace, performing entirely original songs, made it into the series 14 grand final where she eventually finished as the series' runner-up behind hip hop boy-band Rak-Su.

What is she doing now?

Since performing on The X Factor in 2017, Grace signed with Simon Cowell's recording company SYCO with the ambition of officially releasing her music to the world.

She joined fellow X Factor finalists Rak-Su on a tour of the UK after their success on the show and has since performed all across Europe and at private functions for the likes of Dior.

As things stand, Grace has uploaded a number of videos to YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/user/GracieDavies97/featured), featuring a mix of covers and original songs. It is thought that an album could well be on the way after a number of hints from the artist on Instagram and Twitter surfaced in recent weeks.
