Some Arsenal fans have expressed their unhappiness after Eddie Nketiah turned out for Leeds United's Under-23s.
The young Arsenal striker made his debut the following Tuesday, scoring in the Whites' League Cup success against Salford City, but has yet to appear for his temporary employers at Championship level.
And in a move not atypical of the Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa, Nketiah was dropped to the U23s to play Millwall on Monday.
Nketiah, who scored in a 3-2 win at the Whites' Thorp Arch training ground, was joined in Carlos Corberan's 16-man squad by several high-profile colleagues, including his fellow summer signings Helder Costa, Jack Clarke and Illan Meslier.
And this is what is being said by those of an Arsenal persuasion on Twitter...
I hope we didn't loan him to Leeds to play for their U23s— Amarildo (@AmarildoB98) August 19, 2019
Wtf whys he’s playing In theu23s?— leonredafc (@leonred14) August 19, 2019
U23s?! Knew he should’ve gone to Bristol City— Harry (@Harry_Currall) August 19, 2019
If he is going to play U-23, shouldn’t he have stayed at Arsenal?— Arjun Jaikumar (@ArjunJaikumar) August 19, 2019
Why is Nketiah playing for Leeds U23’s? May as well have stayed and played for ours.— Adam (@AdamPembrey) August 19, 2019
Why the **** have we loaned Nketiah to Leeds only for them to play him in their cup team and their u23 development side? Literally a waste of time him being there. He needs game time at a serious club.— Rauls Window Cleaner (@Agentaubameyang) August 19, 2019
Nketiah is one of two recognised senior strikers at Leeds, and will surely get his chance over the course of the campaign.
His positional rival, Patrick Bamford, scored both goals as the Whites won 2-0 at Wigan on Saturday.
Are Arsenal fans overreacting over Nketiah?
