Sheffield United beat Crystal Palace 1-0 on Sunday.

Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United continue to prove their doubters wrong, having beaten Crystal Palace 1-0 at Bramall Lane on Sunday afternoon.

The Blades started well with a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth last weekend, and were looking to follow that up with a home win this weekend.

That’s exactly what Wilder got, as another fine defensive showing saw them keep a clean sheet, meaning John Lundstram’s goal clinched all three points.

With four points from the first two games of the season, Sheffield United are making a mockery of the predictions that they’ll go straight back down, and whilst it’s still early days, they’re also proving pundits wrong.

Many have suggested that Wilder’s side are direct and limited, seemingly having failed to watch anything of them last season, as Wilder pushed for fine expansive football, shown with his innovative overlapping centre backs.

Wilder has stuck with that approach even in the Premier League, and Palace simply couldn’t break them down nor cope with their all-action style.

Many will soon realise that United won’t go down without a real fight, and Wilder has earned praise on Twitter after Sunday’s impressive win.

Rio Ferdinand applauded Wilder for four points in two games, whilst Gary Lineker joined in, hailing their ‘terrific start’ – and having been seen as somewhat unfashionable by some pundits, Blades fans will love the reaction to Sunday’s win.
